In group journaling practices, or any group setting that invites openness and vulnerability, how we show up matters tremendously. As we join and lead these groups, we have a chance to create shared environments of real care: spaces that are—in themselves—healing, nourishing, and connecting.

So: how? Across a wide literature on circling and group facilitation, the same few core skills emerge to help us find our own embodiment and presence, tune into the presence of others, listen fully, and speak genuinely and authentically.

In this workshop, we will practice these core skills in a group journaling and sharing session. From this experience, we will identify and discuss our own takeaways, and what we can bring into creating shared spaces of kindness and authenticity in our own lives.
