“Journaling is how I make sense of life as it’s happening – and how I remember what matters”.
Kristen is a writer, journal keeper, and the author of three journaling books. For over a decade, she’s explored how journaling can help us slow down, find meaning in the everyday, and preserve the stories that shape us.
She leads product content at Day One, the beloved digital journaling app, where she creates prompts, guided journaling challenges, and in-app journal templates used by millions. She also hosts the Day One Podcast, where she interviews journalers from all walks of life about how journaling has changed them and shaped their lives.
We often turn to our journals to explore what we think and feel. But how much of the life happening around those thoughts and feelings are we actually capturing? The ordinary details of our days are easy to overlook and even easier to forget.
This workshop explores another dimension of journaling: using the page to pay closer attention to everyday life. Through guided reflection and hands-on exercises, you’ll practice noticing what you might otherwise miss and capturing the details that give life its texture. You’ll also explore what can emerge when you look back over time.
Drawing from more than a decade of daily journaling and experience shaping digital journaling experiences at Day One, Kristen will also explore how the traces of everyday life—from photographs and calendars to messages—can help us remember more and bring those moments onto the page.
You’ll leave with fresh ideas for capturing more of your everyday life and new ways to use your journal to appreciate and remember the life you’re living.
